When a severed finger comes through the post to the police station, the authorities realize that money will have to be found quickly in order to stop the kidnappers from losing patience. But Simon fears what will happen if the IRA group finds the police involved and arranges a different drop off plan with Geoffrey, Margaret and Andrew behind their back. But when the day comes the police begin to smell a rat, and the resulting chaos sees the situation end very badly indeed...
