DOM - Acid rockband from Stuttgart - Germany
The song "Colossus" was recorded at a live session of the group in
Leonberg-Germany 1974. The song is a cutaway from a 60 minute session, called "Battlerock". Even now (11/26/2012) found in a dark cellar.
This is the first publishing of the song.
After gradually growing successes DOM recorded two self-written songs on 9/16/1972 as 7" single "DOM"/"Devils grandma" (Newcomer 45-002) in an edition of 500 copies. Nowadays this single is a collectors´item worth more than US$400. After about 90 gigs in mainly smaller pubs or now and then in bigger halls or open air supporting Guru Guru (who followed a similar sound at that time) and Nektar, DOM called it a day in October 1974. In 1979 the trio came together again and formed together with Arne Thörmer on rhythm guitar and as singer and "Stan" Stefan Haag on keyboards the band HÄGAR named after the comic figur viking Hägar and the family name of Ebi and Wolfgang. This band existed until June 1986 and recorded three blues rock albums in German language, partially in Suabian dialect: "Dodernschd" was independently released in 1982. "Frei Schnauze" from 1984 and "China´s crying" from 1986 remained unreleased until today, thus still waiting to be discovered by a label or privatly disposed by ebay. All three original band members stopped playing music.
By the way, there is no connection whatsoever between DOM and the band with the same name from Düüsseldorf that released the album "Edge of time" (Melocord ST-LP-D 001) in 1972
