One of the great natural resources in Colombia is the Magdalena River. It cuts its way between two mountain ranges and one rain forest to a magical place, the old colonial city of Mompos, and was the bridge between the Caribbean and Colombian interior. The architecture and crafts express a mixture of Spanish colonial and indigenous styles. One example is Filigrana jewelry, the highly detailed jewelry work that uses fine, precious metal threads. This lush, utopian place inspired Gabriel Garcia Marquez novels, and is reflected in our FW15 collection.
