Was dicking around with my vintage (1988) Casio VZ-1 synthesizer and ended up making a cover of the Air Combat music from Turrican 3.
I'm so damn happy I've finally managed to understand how that Synthesizer works and am now able to program it in no time flat! If anyone looking at this has ever owned a Yamaha DX7, the VZ-1 is very similar but has two extra oscillators, more waveforms (sine, noise, noise with fundamental, five variations of the saw), 9x8 stage envelopes, ring modulation and custom designed algorithms. Its a very daunting synthesizer to work with. its taken me two years to finally figure out how to use the damn thing correctly!
Lead Brass has some slight delay.
Bass is raw with no processing.
Background chords have stereo widening and auto pan.
Drums are samples and are not from the VZ-1.
