Episode 2: Annie Kenney. Annie Kenney is a mill worker, the fifth of eleven children, going through the daily drudge of her life. But one day she is inspired by a speech given by Christabel Pankhurst and decides to join the women's suffrage movement. She proves a valuable addition to the movement, later meeting Keir Hardie and the couple Frederick and Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence on a journey to London with the Pankhursts. But as the campaign gathers pace the Pankhursts adopt a more military approach, leading to a crackdown by the government and Annie and Christabel being arrested at a Liberal meeting when calling for votes for women.
