The story of a Scottish commando named McDonald who receives a "Dear John" letter from his wife saying she is pregnant by another man. As a consequence he is given a place on a French escape attempt in which he is shot and killed at the wire outside the castle wall. Original Broadcast Date 11th January 1973.
