-How to Crappie Fish?
-How to locate winter Crappie?
This Crappie Fishing Video series will cover the following topics:
-Crappie Fishing setup, tips, techniques, secrets, hacks, tricks, rigs and electronics.
-Crappie Fishing in February.
-Crappie Fishing with a jig.
-Crappie Fishing with Livescope.
When winter Crappie Fishing you want to use your electronics to locate the Crappie and determine which pattern they are currently in. Using side scan on any electronics unit will allow you to determine where the Crappie are and which Crappie fishing technique to use!
In this episode our fishing setup included ACC Crappie Stix 6’6” poles, Bonehead Tackle baits and Bonehead tackle braided line. We were targeting deep water Crappie holding tight to under water structure, brush, and lay downs! In order to get down to them quickly we used 1/4 oz jigheads from Litewire Hooks paired with Bonehead Tackle Stump bugs on 12lb Bonehead Tackle Braided line!
The Bonehead Tackle Stump bugs colors were Bleeding Shad, Slick, and Grapevine! This Crappie Fishing setup allowed us to target the deep water Crappie effectively!
Crappie Tip: When Crappie Fishing with a jig in deep water always use braided line as it allows for a more effective hook set! Bonehead Tackle braided line has almost no stretch which is critical when attempting to set the hook at 40 feet!
Crappie Secret: When Crappie Fishing with Livescope always take the time to ensure you have the best possible positioning on the Crappie before pitching/casting to it. This allows you to place the Crappie bait directly in view of the targeted Crappie! When done properly this Crappie Fishing technique will trigger a bite from the Crappie!
