Dame Letty Colston receives a number of mysterious phone calls from a stranger who tells her "Remember you must die." Unnerved she calls on her brother Godfrey in the hopes of finding out who is behind it, but is further unsettled when she receives another phone call at their house by the caller. Later they attend the funeral of a former friend Lisa Brooke, but when members from the funeral start receiving the same call an Inspector is called to investigate. It turns out that the deceased had connections with a number of people at the funeral, but is it something in their past that is behind the phone calls? And can he prevent a murder from being committed?
Starring Michael Hordern, Renee Asherson, Stephanie Cole, Maggie Smith, John Wood, Thora Hird, Maurice Denham, Cyril Cuysack, Zoe Wanamaker, Robert Flemying, Barbara Hicks, Margery Withers, Muriel Pavlov, Jacqueline Leonard, Preston Lockwood, Damaris Hayman, Elizabeth Bradley, Arthur Hewlett, John Bascombe, Anna Cropper, Mary Healy, Paul Opacic, Aimee Delamain, Leonard Maguire and Emma Richter. This was from a Screen Two anthology series, first broadcast on April 19th 1992. This was originally uploaded by Mick's Nostalgia Channel on Youtube, and I had the good fortune to save this to watch as it is a real gem of a mystery. It's unlike many things you have ever seen, but is full of humour and a cast of old school stars that are to die for (no pun intended). It's clearly from an old recording, so please note it does contain glitches, but it has rarely ever been repeated since. I hope you enjoy it.
