Lisa Zinn-O'Rourke, 50, captured the moment her boyfriend, Joe Carney, 40, cut the helpless pup free, after initially spotting the innocent animal in distress, on Westport Beach, California, USA, on July 23. Discovering the seal tangle in a littered fishing net and other debris, Joe pulled the trapped creature to shore and urgently started cutting it free with the assistance of two strangers holding the animal still.
