Half of children in the world experience some form of violence: conference
Skopje, 27-28 February 2018 (MIA) - Half of children in the world experienced physical, psychological
or sexual violence. The violence against children is global problem present in all countries both in rich vand poor families. It is therefore necessary to focus on this problem and also the problem of child poverty and a joint struggle combat of civil sector, institutions and religious communities.
This was underlined by the participants at Tuesday’s conference “End of Child Poverty and Violence
Against Children” organised by the First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi in Skopje.
Fred Nyabera, director of the Arigatou International – Nairobi, Initiative to End Child Poverty, said that the approach puts into action three main strategies. First, mistakes and problems should be identified afterwards changing policies to solve the problem as well as establishing social changes.
"It is necessary to change policies, but also to change the consciousness, people should think differently. It is not enough just to research, locate problems, and change policies, but rather to organize everything together to do more in our own organizations and institutions. We all can reduceor eradicate child poverty or violence against children," he said.

Arigatou International—Nairobi (AI—N) in partnership with the First Children’s Embassy in the World - MEGJASHI (FCEWM), has organised a Balkans regional meeting in Skopje , Macedonia, from the 26th February 2018 – 1st March 2018.
