My intention is to make the trumpet sound closer to the timbre of a clarinet (in this case turkish/bulgarian style). Trumpet is known for its brilliant and somewhat harsh sound that cuts over anything, I am trying to get away from that and really try to make it sound more like a human voice mixed with violin "crying like" phrasing. I am using a 1948 Olds Super model with a late 1930's HEIM mouthpiece. This equipment really helps get that very smokey dark airy sound. Hope you enjoy it!
