Astronauts Frank Borman, James A. Lovell, Jr., and William A. Anders, transmitted this holiday message as they orbited the moon (approximately 240,000 miles from the earth). William A. Anders: We are now approaching lunar sunrise. And, for all the people back on earth, the crew of Apollo 8 have a message that we would like to send to you.
