Arkhive recording St.Peterburg Andrey Ivanovitch After his triumphant debut in New York in 1996, some critics in America in their reviews compared A. Ivanovitch to the legendary Dinu Lipatti. In Europe they preferred to call him "an unravelled interpreter of Russian music" and in Russia they would talk about "another Richter" to appear. The Russian pianist A. Ivanovitch and his performances at world's famous concert venues roused great interest among music lovers and critics. His convincing victories in a number of international piano competitions and increasing concert activities were noticed by recording companies both at home and abroad. Over a short period from 1999 to 2002, A. Ivanovitch released 15 compact discs with his interpretations of music by Mozart, Debussy, Mussorgsky, Prokofiev, Schedrin, Rakhmaninov, Grieg and, of course, his favourite Chopin. In 2004, he was granted the title of Honorary Member of the Chopin Society for the achievements in the popularisation of Polish piano music. Since 1996 A. Ivanovitch has happily combined his teaching and concert activities. He now is Assistant Professor in piano at the first Russian conservatory -- St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after Rimsky-Korsakov. He regularly takes part in international piano competitions as a jury member and as such also works at a number of International Music Academies. He conducts master classes on a regular basis across Russia and in other countries. In 2005 he joined a new musical educational project launched by Russia's Educational Satellite Channel. Among his students you will find prize winners of international piano competitions and grant holders of different state programmes.
