Dedicated to a great story with the ingenuity to use a horse as a protagonist for war; watch it easily switching sides and in the end see its innocence being a lot more humanly than all the people surrounding it.
The movie imo has a very regardful way to deal with its characters, plot and overall subject. Its camera work and nearly iconic frames make it a little piece of art and there are so many highly emotional moments as it transports its message about peace, friendship, trust and loyalty. It surely remains a Hollywood-Spielberg production by all means but even so, I love the way it's been done.
I know that this song is not from this movie but was originally written for 'Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron' - another very good movie that uses a horse as a neutral character to retell a historical story. It was my intention here to combine both because I think this song fits 'War Horse' Joey about as much as it suits Spirit.
