The first ever serial The Two Ronnies did as part of their TV show in 1971. Henrietta Beckett is a young girl who is hired to be a governess to a young son (aged 36) of an old country estate. However, she soon finds herself falling in love with her charge while simultaenously trying to fight off the advances of his father. When things reach a head, Henrietta is dismissed from her job and finds herself alone in London, where she experiences numerous adventures, but is also prey to many people...
Starring Madeline Smith, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett among the main cast, Hampton Wick was the first of The Two Ronnies classic serial they made during their shows from 1971 to 1982. I have them all, along with their short spoofs they did from 1973 to 1987, and will upload them all over the next few months or so. This is an unusual first entry, a send up of the various genre of novels popular in the 19th century, and with an engaging performance by Madeline Smith. This was originally in 8 parts, which I have combined to make a feature length film. And please note that this does contain some nudity.
