During the Spring months of March, April, May and early June. Tornadoes are particularly prevalent in Kansas and the Midwestern US. Kansas is part of what is coined Tornado Alley which is made up of northern Texas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska although not exclusive. A dark ominous wall cloud that like a monster slowly but viciously creeps up on unsuspecting farms, towns and cities with the lead edge of the storm that begins with powerful winds, followed by torrential rains then ultimately the fury of the storm is let loose often bringing erie green skies that signify hail stones, then quite frequently in the case of approaching Tornado's there's always an abrupt moment of calm with loud ominous warning sirens blowing furiously to warn people of it's arrival. Often the devastating, powerful tornado wreaks havoc on all that it comes in contact with, however, just as quickly as the storm blows in it quickly departs leaving behind much evidence of it's visit. Welcome "Dark Skies Over Kansas".
