Starring Geraldine McEwan, Emily Aston, Kenneth Cranham, Barbara Hicks, Elizabeth Spriggs, Freda Dowie, Margery Withers, Celia Imrie, Peter Gordon, Pam Ferris, Katy Murphy, David Thewlis and Charlotte Coleman, who plays the older Jess in the later episodes. This was originally broadcast on January 10th 1990 and was a critical if controversial hit at the time, due to it's subject of lesbianism. It also won BAFTAs for Best Drama Serial and Best Actress for Geraldine McEwan, with further nominations for Charlotte Coleman and Emily Aston, who is the youngest actress to be nominated at the age of 8. This is from an old recording of mine from when it was shown on BBC4 a few years ago, so apologies if there are any glitches.
