Part 2 of 4 of the Lord Peter Wimsey mystery. After artist Snady Campbell is found dead at the bottom of a cliff in Galloway, Scotland, the police automatically assume it is an accident. But Campbell had made many public enemies the previous night, and when Wimsey finds that a crucial paint is missing from his pallette he is certain that Campbell has been murdered and someone painted his art work to make it look as if he had died in the morning. But as only an artist could of painted his work, it gives Wimsey six suspects to chose from - but who are the five red herrrings, and which out of them is the killer?
Starring Ian Carmichael, Glyn Houston, David Rintoul, Donald Douglas, Roy Boutcher, James Copeland, John Junkin, Sally Kinghorn, Susan Macready, Russell Hunter, Robert James, Michael Sheard and a very young Julie Peasgood in only her 2nd screen role and almost unrecognisable with dark hair! This was the last of the Carmichael adaptations, and despite him wishing to continue doing Wimsey, the BBC decided he was too old to be seen romancing Harriet Vane, which would of been the future adaptations. A shame, as I felt the series still had life in it. Please note, these are from old video tapes I had of the series, so apologies for any glitches there may be in the picture.
