Intro:
BURNING DOWN!
WE CAN'T STOP IT,
WE GOTTA GET OUT!
START AGAIN!
MY MEMORIES ARE GONE FOREVER!
Verse 1:
DON'T TRY TO TURN THIS AROUND ON ME.
I'M NOT THE ONE THAT SAVED YOU.
THIS WAS MY HOME! THIS WAS MY LIFE!
IT'S NOT ALWAYS JUST ABOUT YOU!
Refrain:
"And as I heard The sirens begin to chime
I CAN FEEL MY HEAT BEGINS TO RACE!"
Chorus:
I can see through the flames that the fire cleanses me.
Mind and soul now the same, and my body guides the way.
Verse 2:
I THREW YOU ON MY SHOULDER WITH THE ANGEL ON MY OTHER.
I'M NOT YOUR HERO! I'LL NEVER BE WHAT YOU WANTED!
WHAT YOU THOUGHT I WOULD BE!
Chorus:
I can see through the flames that the fire cleanses me.
Mind and soul now the same, and my body guides the way.
I can see through my tired eyes, my sickness controls me.
Deep inside, I know trust is the Mother of Deceit.
Bridge:
And there you were six years old ashes in you hair.
You're not scared. You've seen so much pain in so few years.
As the world becomes a place where no one wants to stay, we remain...
SILENT UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE!
Refrain 2:
"And as I see the planes take over the sky,
I CAN FEEL IT COMING TO THE END!"
Chorus:
I can see through the flames that the fire cleanses me.
Mind and soul now the same, and my body guides the way.
I can see through my tired eyes, my sickness controls me.
Deep inside, I know trust is the Mother of Deceit.
[Message]
Obviously, this song expresses anger hatred, and sadness. You loved someone that you almost gave everything you have to him/her. 'Ya helped him/her to get up when he/she feels down. But what he/she did to you in return? He/she betrayed 'ya! That ain't right, right?
In my opinion, this track is somewhat an introduction to "Vices." 'Ya started with a sad mellow theme, then scream, then sad again on the bridge part to the last chorus here on "A Great Fire" and total anger and adrenaline unleashed on "Vices." And notice that the C#m hold on the end part of this song prolongs on the intro part of "Vices."
