Vlada Panovic *solo acoustic accordion*, performed jazz standards"It don't mean a thing" in a beautiful arrangement of Frank Marocco
Vlada Panović, born on 11 November 1967 in Kraljevo -- Serbia, had his first contact with an accordion when he was nine. Fascinated with its sound and features, while his love for music expanded, he expressed a strong desire to master this instrument. As an exceptionnal talent, he entered the elementary school of music „Stevan Mokranjac" in Kraljevo and soon became one of the best students in his class. He later finished the secondary musical school too.
From the very beggining his interest in musical styles and areas was vast. Always looking for the real values, he entered into the core of all musical genres which helped him to develop aesthetic and stylistic comprehension of music. However, his commitment to our rich musical tradition prompted him to put the accent on the musical heritage of his people.
His ongoing commitment to self-development brought him significant awards:
The First accordion of Serbia (Aranđelovac, 1994)
The First accordion of Yugoslavia (Soko Banja, 1997)
The award of the newspaper „Večernje novosti" for the „First accordion" in 1997.
At the end of the year 2000 he became a member of the National Orchestra of RTS (Radio Television of Serbia). In this important institution, which represents some kind of school of folk music, he excelled at the stylistic knowledge of our musical heritage and in writting arrangements for the National Orchestra of RTS.
He passes his knowledge and experience to the younger generations, creating very successful instrumentalists and vocal soloists and shows them as a role model the way of connecting the expressive and the material abundance of traditional music with modern musical expression.
For his abinding recording company „PGP -- RTS" he recorded in 2008 his first CD titled „Accordion journey through Serbia " which represents an homage to the Serbian accordion and in the year 2009 he released his debut CD as an author, titled „Motifs of the Balkans".
Possessing exceptional musicality and musical intelligence, he pushes the boundaries of his artistry and performs with great success the works of the world's famous composers, notably in the field of jazz standards and film music, as well as French chansons, Russian romances and Argentine tango music, gaining praise and recognition from distinguished experts and great musicians from all over the world.
Many years of work, a lot of sacrifice, as well as the great love of his vocation, raised him to the very top of the musical sky of Serbia and brought him the highest award in his career. In January 2010 Vlada Panović became the leader of the National Orchestra of RTS, the most representative orchestra of folk music, which since his inception annihiliated dubious values and gave an immense contribution to the musical heritage of Serbia.
He performs with great responsability his duties as the leader of the National Orchestra of RTS and continues the tradition of his predecessors in the care of folk music, but also puts his mark in aesthetic stylization and strenghtens the national direction in Serbian music.
As an artist with refined taste, precise and clean technique, clear formes, strong and noble tone of softness and especially with the natural sense of the phrase, he expresses within a broad genre range a capacity of an universal musician whose pionneering spirit and intellectual curiosity could not be confined to one area of music and whose interests and desire for musical creativity know no boundaries.
