Set around the world of Thai Kickboxing in scenic Bangkok, this Angela Mao actioner has her and Carter Huang as brother and sister who's father is killed in Thailand when fighting the Thai Boxers. Since this brings shame to Chinese Kung Fu, Angela Mao is ostracized until she goes to Thailand to learn their skills. It's a film with a message about how Chinese Kung Fu is often self satisfied and intransigent, and can learn from other cultures. I can't help but feel that this is a metaphor for the studio, Golden Harvest, a young up and comer challenging the ossified, self-satisfied world of Hong Kong cinema.
