May was an incredible month for Mistique with new singles from some of the freshest new talent around such as: Suffused and Deep Soul Duo. May also saw a superb release from Mistique veteran Eryo and of course one of the most anticipated album of the year, the debut from Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic. For Mistique's final May release another veteran has returned to the spotlight, Turkey's Ozgur Ozkan sees his 'Blur' single getting its release with remixes from: East Cafe, Paul Key and VG vs. Dave Sullivan.
Ozgur seems to split his production time between making slick progressive breaks and club rocking progressve house. For 'Blur' he has opted to go the breaks route. Ozgur's serene and soothing vibes shine through in full force on this one with a wonderful landscape of sound that is laced with futuristic vocal samples and calming, emotional melodic lines.
Much loved Hungarian producer Gábor Kaszás aka East Cafe follows his excellent rework of Eyro's 'Sorrento' with another killer remix on 'Blur'. Gabor has completely overhauled the track and gone with a darker more dancefloor oriented approach. The tough beats and gnarly bassline set the tone early as a trippy soundscape of vocal elements and hypnotic bells take us to a breakdown. Here the track gets stripped right down to the processed bells and a wispy like atmosphere that is highly emotional. Superb remix from East Cafe and a great compliment to Ozgur's dreamy, breaks original.
Pavel Kuzmenko aka Paul Key hails from Russia and he makes his debut on Mistiquemusic with his remix of 'Blur'. Paul has done a great job in crafting a very trippy, atmosphere vibe on his remix. It's relatively minimal but focuses on lots of swirling hypnotic elements amidst a very stormy, dark environment. This piece is a great mood setting and certainly builds anticipation quite nicely with its foreboding vibe. Great mix from Paul.
VG vs Dave Sullivan close the package out with a dreamy progressive house interpretation. The bubbly melodic lines really make this one quite special, they are beautifully textured and very rich sounding. They carry the track and as the atmosphere builds up around them it's becomes a very emotional piece of dance music. Beautiful stuff from VG & Dave Sullivan and a top release from Mistique to close out the month of May
