Siyambala House is a luxury villa overlooking the serene 43-acre Koggala Lake on two sides, just 15 minutes' walk to one of the World's Most Beautiful Beaches, Koggala Beach, and 20 minutes' drive to Galle Fort. It can accommodate 10 adults in great comfort.
With its high-vaulted ceilings, traditional freezes over the windows and doors and inlaid floors, Siyambala House can best be described as a modern take on the Sri Lankan vernacular. It is light, airy and, at more than 4,000 sq ft, very spacious. Outside, the covered terrace benefits from a wonderfully calming breeze from the water, providing the perfect place to eat, take in the views, socialize, or doze. Add to this the spectacular 15-meter infinity pool and the comfort of the huge atrium, and you have all the ingredients in place for a tropical holiday to remember.
Siyambala House Location
Twenty minutes' drive south of Galle, in the south-west of Sri Lanka, is Koggala Lake. Siyambala House sits on the south-eastern tip of this 43-acre lagoon, just five minutes from Koggala Beach. The 120-km journey to the airport takes around three and a half hours (depending on when you travel and the traffic).
Siyambala House Accommodation
Bedrooms
Siyambala House has five bedrooms. Two of these are on the second floor and three are in the guest wing on the ground floor. Three are en suite and the other two share a bathroom. With the exception of the children's room upstairs, which has two single beds, all of them boast large king-size beds, two of which are four-poster.
With the master suite and the children's room upstairs, the house is suitable for a single family, or a much larger number of guests. All of the bedrooms have magnificent views of the lake, custom-made wardrobes and chests of drawers, a writing table and chair, armchair, ceiling fans and an air conditioner.
Bathrooms
The bathrooms are of the highest standard, containing marble imported from Italy and fittings imported from the US. The water is heated by solar-panels and is always hot. The two en suite bathrooms upstairs have baths and showers, and the ones downstairs have 'double showers'. All of them are equipped with rain showers as well as the more traditional variety.
Siyambala House Facilities
Living Areas
The double-story atrium, with its giant picture windows looking on to the lake, is the first room you come to as you enter the house through the large 'castle doors'. With its comfy sofas, the TV and DVD player, and a view to die for, it is the perfect place for some 'quiet time', or to watch a movie. The French-cafe inspired kitchenette contains a fridge, coffee machine, two tables and chairs, a sink and a microwave, plus all of the utensils you could possibly need during your stay (the big cooking can be done for you in the sub-building). Situated between the terrace and the atrium, it tends to be the most sociable room in the house - the place where guests gather before a meal for drinks, check e-mail, grab a lunchtime snack, write postcards, play board games, or apply suntan lotion!
The covered terrace has a 10-seater dining table as well as sitting area. Facing the lake on two sides, it leads on to a wooden deck (where sun-lovers can bask on loungers), the pool and a lawn, giving parents the idea vantage point to keep an eye on children playing.
