On December 20, 2016, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced that Yes would finally be inducted on April 2017. It's about time!
Correct Full Frame 4x3 aspect ratio and video enhanced ABWH concert performance of Close To The Edge features Rock Hall fellow Yes inductees Jon Anderson on vocals, Bill Bruford on drums, Rick Wakeman on keyboards and Steve Howe on guitars. Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe were live at Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View, CA on September 9, 1989. Written by Anderson/Howe, the Yes title track was originally recorded on entire side one of album Close To The Edge in 1973. "Close to the Edge" four parts are:
I. "The Solid Time of Change"
II. "Total Mass Retain"
III. "I Get Up, I Get Down" (08:06)
IV. "Seasons of Man" (14:17)
The progressive rock band joins classic rockers Electric Light Orchestra and Journey plus ’60s folk singer Joan Baez, grungers Pearl Jam and the late rapper Tupac Shakur to fill out the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class.
The members of YES who will officially be inducted into the Rock Hall are the ‘UNION‘ tour line-up: current members Alan White and Steve Howe, Yes band’s late bassist and founding member Chris Squire, and former members Jon Anderson (vocals), Bill Bruford (drums), Tony Kaye (keyboards), Rick Wakeman (keyboards) and Trevor Rabin (guitar).
In addition to Steve Howe and Alan White, YES’ current line-up includes Geoff Downes (keyboards; first joined in 1980), Jon Davison (vocals since 2011) and Billy Sherwood (guitar/keyboards in the 1990s and Chris Squire’s choice to take over bass/vocals in 2015).
