MOTORISED STAIR CLIMBING WHEEL CHAIR
One of major problem for wheelchair users is crossing the terraced road, such as sidewalks, shopping centre, as well as up and down stairs. In this project we have designed and fabricated a prototype .The mechanism is similar to that of a tank that is conveyer belt mechanism. The wheels make the belt to move and which in turn grips on the stairs to climb it. In this project we have enhanced working as compared to conventional wheelchair. Our model can be made according to different loads and work requirements. Our model can go forward and backward on plain surfaces as well as can climb stairs. This project is expected to help wheelchair users, especially when climbing stairs along with some extra load .Our model is a multipurpose model which is basic resemblance of our vision for innovative and enhanced multipurpose design.
Our wheel chair is a modified version that is it can be used for disabled individuals as well as for carrying loads from one place to another in industries on both plane surfaces as well as stairs.
Our model resembles as a tank rather than a conventional wheelchair.
Our model is easy to use, that is skilled person is not required for handling it .
Our model is economical, that is can be used by every class of people.
With small improvements and better quality parts our model can be enhanced and modified .
It is multipurpose model .
Can be made in different sizes that is our model can be made according to different loads and requirements .
Our model is a basic resemblance of our vision for innovative and enhanced multipurpose design.
In the following project we faced problems like unavailability of wheels of larger diameters, grooved rubber or chain belt. With the use of these the model will attain the ability to climb the stairs of inclination angle up to 40°.
Once the design is modified and stable and is produced in large quantities its cost gets reduced by a large amount making it affordable for people of all income groups of the society.
With implementation of such an economical design overcoming the problem of stair and curb negotiation can be overcome.
Thus, the further enhancements in our prototype and realization of our ideas with all the resource can be helpful asset for the society.
