In the course of his career he has received 35 international awards, including a Goldene Schallplatte. He became known for his work with the bands The Showtimers and Clinic as well as for the music for the films To Walk with Lions, The Call of the Wild: Dog of the Yukon, and Kill Bill Vol. 2. He has appeared with, among others, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, The Animals, The Who, David Bowie and The Beatles. NIGHT DEMON Fleeting pleasures don't mean anything to me. I live amidst dreamscapes. Only the black night's angel comes to visit my sleeping place, I am paralyzed, with terror-stricken eyes I gaze into the unfathomable darkness. And with unfulfilled desire in this drowsy calm, a familiar and beloved creature bends down to me. Deeply concerned, I whisper to him: "Get away, nocturnal phantasm! Night angel, severe angel, who watches over my sleep." Yet, in his helplessness, the pure angel has faded away, with trembling wings he covers his pale face.
