I came across this American Woodcock bobbing in the middle of the road in Rondeau Provincial Park in Ontario. I approached slowly in the car and he just sat there, allowing me to slowly approach. Finally I pulled up right beside him and took this video. I was amazed, you usually don't get such a good view of them. I'm not sure of the reason for this behaviour. But it definitely didn't seem too bothered by my presence. I finally had to get out of the car and encourage him to leave the road so he won't get hit.
