PLEASE POST ON FACEBOOK TWITTER SEND IN TO NEWS COMPANIES, LET THE PEOPLE SEE WHAT THEY HAVE NOT SEEN ON THE NEWS! WE NEED HELP!!!
Staten Island is where i call home and it has been badly wounded by Hurricane Sandy. 4 days after we were hit, the mayor of NYC was pushing on with the annual marathon, and relief by way of FEMA & Red Cross were just starting to appear where it was needed most. Eventually Mayor Bloomberg saw the writing on the wall and canceled the marathon. This was taken between the hours of 10am and 3pm on November 2nd, 2012. Areas shown are from the Great Kills and Tottenville towns.
My hope is to show what the news really hasn't, and bring you to destroyed places you have yet to see and in a setting of reality instead of news.
People are homeless, some have lost loved ones, others haven't had power for days ... You hear the good stories of people helping and then the horrible ones of people looting, and crazy stories about gas stations... There are dangers everywhere. Be safe.
... and please lend a helping hand...
They say our borough is forgotten, but we cannot allow our people to be forgotten in their time of need!
