Knitted army started as a design school project at design academy eindhoven in 2011 having as a tutor Wieki Somers. More than a finish product this is an experiment that challenges people to learn an easy and fast technique like arm knitting, and to try to reapeat what the designer has done. The outside and the inside of pillows are made with the same material. With the one that can be found in the inside is possible to knit other new ones going through all the steps the designer went through during the process of making. Believing that not always the message the artist or designer wants to give, reach the target, knittem army enclose many aspects in which the public have more chance to find themselves. The customization of the product, like you see in the end of the video, the connection between more elements, the playfullness of each piece, the sustainability of the material and the production. It sounds to be like a perfect project!!! of course it's not but I think gives you anything you want to see in it.
