The Armenian male chess team has for the third time won the world champion's title after successful games at the Istanbul Chess Olympiad.
The team owes its success to Sergey Movsisyan. The other three sportsmen - Levon Aronyan, Vladimir Hakobyan and Gabriel Sargsyan - ended their matches in a draw.
Before the final round, Armenia had 17 points together with China and Russia. It placed the second with additional scores, with China topping the tournament list. After this round, Armenia shared 19 points with Russia, but the extra scores gave the team an advantage.
The competitions kicked off in Istanbul on August 27. The Armenian male team had earlier won the world champions title in Turin (2006) and Dresden (2008).
