2012 (Dame Shirley Bassey and Sir Tom Jones are two elder artists who performed for Queen Elizabeth on June 4, 2012 at the Diamond Jubilee Concert for the Queen. Both artists were in outstanding form and they both sang one of their hits to a packed crowd). They both are simply two of the greatest artists from the United Kingdom, with outstanding vocal abilities, and they are great ambassadors for their country. Both Shirley and Tom were born in Wales.
Dame Shirley will celebrate her own Diamond Jubilee with 60 years in show business in 2013. Ageless Shirley started back in 1953 at the young age of 16 years old; she looks at least 20 years younger than her literal age! Sir Tom is 3.5 years younger than Bassey.
LYRICS - Diamonds Are Forever:
Diamonds are forever,
They are all I need to please me,
They can stimulate and tease me,
They won't leave in the night,I've no fear that they might desert me.
Diamonds are forever,Hold one up and then caress it,
Touch it, stroke it and undress it,
I can see ev'ry part,Nothing hides in the heart to hurt me.
I don't need love,
For what good will love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me,
For when love's gone
They'll lustre on.
Diamonds are forever,
Sparkling round my little finger.
Unlike men, the diamonds linger;
Men are mere mortals who
Are not worth going to your grave for.
I don't need love,
For what good will love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me,
For when love's gone,
They'll lustre on.
Diamonds are forever, forever, forever.
Diamonds are forever, forever, forever.
Forever and ever.
LYRICS - Delilah:
I saw the light on the night that I passed by her window
I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind
She was my woman
As she deceived me I watched and went out of my mind
My, my, my, Delilah
Why, why, why, Delilah
I could see that girl was no good for me
But I was lost like a slave that no man could free
At break of day when that man drove away, I was waiting
I cross the street to her house and she opened the door
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my Delilah
Why, why, why Delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me Delilah I just couldn't take any more
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my, Delilah
Why, why, why, Delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me Delilah I just couldn't take any more
Forgive me Delilah I just couldn't take any more
