There was a horrible incident in our shelter“Fuzzy Soul” (We are a non-profit Animal shelter in Russia). Fire. Fire is always dangerous and scary.There is no worse trouble for the life of any family than a fire... As you already know our shelter is moving to a new location.We are moving from the Lipetsk region to the Chekhov district of Moscow region.A lot of work has been done on getting warm cabins for cats,puppies,sick and old animals.Many enclosures were built for adult and senior dogs. Under advice of experts,cabins and dog houses were powered by gas heaters until we could transition to using electricity. It is very painful to say but two days ago we had an unfortunate incident.On the night of January 7 one of the gas heaters exploded.As firefighters later explained ,heaters of this type very often have a manufacturing defect and this unfortunately caused gas explosion .Our shelter workers woke up to the loud sound of explosion.They ran to save the most valuable thing in the shelter-the animals.But the cabins were covered in flames within minutes .Thanks to the efforts of our shelter workers we were able to save most of our animals. With a great sadness and heavy hearts we regret to inform you that some cats and dogs didn’t make it. We are going through an extremely difficult time right now.Please help us and support. There was no time to save property.The fire burned medicine for cats and dogs,some food that was stored in cabins ,construction equipment ,supplies purchased to build new enclosures. We really appreciate any help and support.
