Watch Dogs Gameplay Walkthrough Demo Trailer at Ubisoft E3 2012 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Watch Dogs a new Ubisoft Montreal production has been in the works for close to two years, and focuses on Aidan Pierce, a man with the power to manipulate society's increasingly interconnected digital networks. Set in Chicago, the game looks to be an open world sandbox with multiple ways to approach a problem.
In the real time demo, the playable character begins by walking up to an art gallery he needs access to in order to meet up with a contact. Greeted with long lines and some burly bouncers, the player quickly cuts out cell phone and communication services and sneaks into the building amidst the confusion.
After moving through the crowd and meeting an informant, the character literally scans the environment, gaining information and bios by cross checking the people in the crowd versus information databases. He eventually takes out his target and makes his escape.
Escaping from the hit, he shifts all the lights at a nearby traffic intersection to green, causing a massive pile-up. The police are alerted and after they arrive, the game shows off some covered based shooting. In one final stroke, it's revealed another player is aiding in the game, suggesting some sort of co-op.
It's an incredable showing for a brand new game. There are clear Dues Ex influences with a touch of Ubisoft's own Assassin's Creed series. The game was shown being played with an Xbox 360 controller, but no platforms or release date was announced, suggesting this might be a next-gen title.
