Smile by Charlie Chaplin is featured in Mattress, the twelfth episode of Season One. It is sung by the New Directions, with solos from Artie, Finn, Mercedes and Rachel. The song plays in the background when the Glee kids are getting ready for the yearbook pictures. The Glee Club's photo is eventually defaced by Azimio, Karofsky and other members of the football team. We never actually see the New Directions perform the song.
