It wasn't until he was 50 years old that Robby began dressing as a woman and fantasizing about having a female body. (Robby was recently profiled in a UK Channel 4 documentary: 'Secrets of the Living Dolls.') Realizing he was transgender and not gay - Robby started wearing women's clothes in private, but still felt something was missing from the entire experience.
Then he came across FemSkin; a small family-run company in central Florida that caters to 400,000 trans people and cross-dressing clients worldwide. Most of FemSkin's customers yearn to have a full-female body suit and prosthetics. Robby ordered a suit and it changed his life forever. The final step In his "feminine transformation" was added a young attractive female mask to complete his desired look. "I contemplated surgery for the first ten years of cross-dressing," Robby says. "My desires for becoming a female went away, largely because of this suit. Seeing myself with a female body in the mirror was mind-blowing. It's a feeling that is way beyond happy."
Robby finds the FemSkin experience like a shot of adrenalin, a feeling of satisfaction; a transportation. "I transport into another world, another being. It makes all the world's worries disappear and you go into this funny little fantasy world. It's very, very satisfying, very, very exhilarating."
In the past, Robby wore long worn girdles, corsets and pads in order to develop a feminine shape. He also wears a prosthetic breastplate that provides fake cleavage and a feminized neck, created by a Seattle manufacturer.
"When I'm out many people think my breasts are real or implants and this is my real body," he says. "Even 'vanillas' will come up and say, 'Wow, that's an amazing rack' and I will respond, 'I can tell you where to order one.' Sometimes they have to touch it to believe it is not real. I get a kick out of that." Adam Ramos, the owner of FemSkin, inherited the company from his father. He oversees the manufacturing of dozens of body suits per week. Adam's father came up with the idea after watching a TV show called: 'RealDoll' -- which featured life-size dolls that certain men enjoy romantic and sexual relationships. He then saw an online forums discussing 'RealDoll' and found their was a demand for men wanting similar lifelike doll suits. FemSkin successfully filled this otherwise empty niche in the market.
