GOOD LUCK AND SEE YOU SOON!!!!
The Occupants are another band that I have been involved with over the past couple of years that are from Byron Bay in Australia. My involvement with this band has largely been session based with myself recording drums for 4 songs so far. These include "I've Been Thinking", "Wonderland", "Streets" and "Hindsight". We also worked with Forrester Savell as producer and engineer on these projects. All songs can be found at the links just below.
Hindsight has a repeated 3/4 - 4 bar loop idea that flows through the first half of the song. We opened up this idea at the bridge and last section to take the song to a climactic ending. I had a bit more freedom on this track with fills etc also allowing me to flow away from the 4 bar loop a little. As far as what I'm playing in this play through video, I actually transcribed my parts from the original version so I could replicate what we captured in the studio on the recording.
Big thanks to Forrester Savell for mixing this video. The drums sound very present, and large in this mix and I'm absolutely stoked with how he's made my drums sound here.
