My Bunny Blanc doll bed remake is finally complete! A lot of my subscribers had been requesting that I remake Bunny Blanc's bed - must have been because they hated the original. Actually, my daughter kind of disliked it as well after a while, so even more motivation for me to get this bed remade. So, the first step was making a Wonderlandian quilt. I basically combined a lot of different fabrics that I thought would suit Bunny Blanc's color palette and story, and cut them into diamond shapes and hot-glued them to an underlying piece of denim fabric. Then I used black, bright pink, and gold ribbons, as well as white craft fur to trim the whole thing. The next step was to create the Bunny Blanc "mattress" itself. I ripped apart my old Bunny Blanc doll bed and reused the SmoothFoam block. I re-covered it with a different fabric, and then trimmed it with a black chiffon ribbon and a thin gold ribbon. For the headboard, I actually found a wooden shape that resembled a top hat. Which of course, is perfect for Bunny Blanc. I also found dimensional pocketwatch stickers that also dovetail well with Bunny's theme. I painted the top hat black and added the stickers, but then I also cut off the ears on my old Bunny Blanc headboard and hot-glued that to the back of the top hat. For the footboard, I took two miniature fairy garden gates and hot-glued them together to create a "wrought-iron" look. I then found these pocketwatch charms from Bead Landing, and hot-glued them to the wrought-iron bars. I also used 4 turning rods in total and painted them black to serve as "bedposts" for the headboard and footboard. For Bunny Blanc's pillow, I bought a pocketwatch-on-chain iron-on transfer from Dressy Jessie ( an Etsy shop), and I cut it apart to create a personalized design on a black felt background. I did cut the black felt in a V shape at the top to give it the feeling of a "vest" (like the vest Bunny Blanc is wearing), and hot-glued a piece of mint-green fabric in the background. So far, the Bunny Blanc bed remake is my daughter's favorite bed, but I think that has to do with its recency (in other words, I just made it).
