Serving him is not a favour, nor a bargain — it is simply recognising what already belongs to him. Not everyone can bear this relationship, for it means living at the spiritual guide's disposal with joy, without complaint, without hesitation. This is the high standard of true discipleship. This is what it means to be the property of the spiritual guide!
