Uses
1. Talking about events that happened before other events
I’ve lost their invoice - I can’t find it anymore.
2. With I wish, If only and I’d rather
He wishes he hadn’t left his previous job.
3. Notice that with the present perfect the time period is not finished or not definite.
I’ve worked in marketing all my life.
