Bookmate is looking for a Team Lead (CEO) to drive our mission to bring access to books and a more social reading experience to all the world’s people. We are a team of 19 individuals with diverse backgrounds and skillsets who are hell bent on achieving this goal. We have already proven our model in the difficult Russian digital book market and are now rapidly pushing into other global markets — with a quickly growing team, we now need a fearless leader to join us in moving ahead with even more speed, clarity and intent.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who is part leader and part manager: You’ll be responsible for structuring the many ideas of your colleagues while keeping a clear head and prioritizing the weekly tasks based on hitting our targets and improving our most crucial metrics. Someone who is part inventor and part futurist: You’ll be working behind the scenes of a grand attempt to improve (and when needed derail) the status quo of book reading worldwide. Someone who is part board room magician/diplomat and part analyst: You’ll be spending a lot of time evangelizing proper product process lining up goals with actions within the team, making final decisions on core strategic moves, meeting with investors and partners worldwide to promote Bookmate, and rallying the team towards bringing about a massive revolution in books globally.
Does this sound like you? Here are some clues that you may be cut out for the role:
- You have an online and mobile product building background;
- You have had leadership responsibilities and you are able to keep a team both motivated and focused on goals;
- You have experience with task-managing design and development teams and have no problems breaking complex issues down into tasks that can be developed and executed by others;
- You can weigh input from all sides (partnerships, product, development, marketing, legal, content, etc.) and make the exact right decision to reach the goals of the company;
- You have experience reporting to investors and also finding new investment;
- You have experience building an international team and product;
- You are ready to put your mark on the universe;
