"The Opposition Bloc" unveiled its top ten candidates for people's deputies of Ukraine to participate in the current parliamentary elections.
The Opposition Bloc is led by Yuriy Boyko, former deputy prime minister, an experienced politician, a top manager in the energy sector.
The top ten also includes the head of the Ukrainian Perspective Foundation Oleksandr Vilkul, former head of the Kharkiv Oblast State Administration Mykhailo Dobkin, President of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress, Head of the Center Party Vadym Rabinovych, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Ukraine Development Party Serhiy Larin, former Azovstal CEO Oleksiy Belyi, MP Nestor Shufrych, Ukraine-Forward! leader Natalia Korolevska, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health Care Tatiana Bakhteyeva, first deputy head of the National Committee of the Ukraine Development Party Mykola Skoryk.
“The Opposition Bloc is the party of peace, and we call on millions of our fellow citizens to join us for the sake of unity of the country and people’s lives,” said OB leader Yuriy Boiko. He stressed that the OB participants are not parties, but rather individual politicians, whose purpose is to preserve Ukraine, to protect its citizens, and restore peace on their land.
“Today Ukraine is in the most difficult situation since the Second World War,” the OB leader said in a statement. - “This government keeps losing territories from day one. They are unable to run the country and persistently push it into the economic abyss: the total impoverishment of the people, economic collapse, paralysis in the energy sector. The country found itself in a situation, in which human death has ceased to be a tragedy. Now it is cynical and inhumane statistic. This government does not see the obvious and refuses to hear the whole regions,” said Boiko.
“We have not had a more ineffective, phony and weak government in the 23 years of existence of an independent Ukraine,” said the OB leader in a statement. - “It is our task to make the government answer for their actions to the people and protect our citizens.”
“We will finally stop the war and restore the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. We will establish a dialogue with our neighbors. This is the key to the development of domestic production. The incompetence of the current leadership has led to a situation, where hundreds of businesses have lost their perennial cooperation links. Thousands of our fellow citizens are losing their jobs, wages,” said the bloc leader.
According to him, the Opposition Bloc plans to protect the interests of the Ukrainian economy: “Never before has the country been so defenseless before winter. They suggest that we return to the stone age - to bask in the fires and stock on wood burning stoves. Unlike them, we are able to govern the state. And we cannot stand on the sidelines today. We will provide light and warmth in the homes of Ukrainians. We will save jobs and protect the interests of the Ukrainian industry. The state should keep all markets for our exporters, including Russia,” stressed Boiko.
The leader of the political force also declared his readiness to protect the interests of all Ukrainians, regardless of the region where they live. The OB is in favor of granting Russian and other regional languages an official status.
“The South East of Ukraine is inhabited by Ukrainians. Period. Without a strong representation of SE residents the new Verkhovna Rada will not be legitimate and will not be able to unite the country. And we are ready to protect the opinion of our citizens, regardless of the region where they live,” he stressed.
According to Yuriy Boiko, the Opposition Bloc fights for the unity of Ukraine, to ensure that the voice of every region is heard and each oblast receives broader rights and powers. “We will achieve a real decentralization of power and extend the rights of the regions in the extent to which this will improve there economic and political situation. All regions will be able to freely dispose of most of their income. This is the only for us to keep the country united and indivisible!" summed up the OB leader.
