MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) — Belarus and Venezuela are true strategic partners in the international arena, Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs Yvan Gil Pinto said as he met with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko in Minsk on 16 October, BelTA has learned.
“Venezuela and Belarus stay committed to the same principles, and this helps the two states to pursue a similar foreign policy. We share the principles of sovereignty, the right of peoples to self-determination, non-interference in the internal affairs of foreign states. Our relations are not just about supporting each other when voting in international organizations,” Yvan Gil Pinto said.
We are true strategic partners in the international arena, the minister said. “Despite the fact that relations between our states have suffered as a result of the pandemic and sanctions, today we are at a starting point that will let us bring them back to their previous level,” he added.
