American Family refuses to pay a hail damage claim
All my neighbors have had a new roof installed due to a hail storm, American Family has refused our claim and has led us down a long road of having to get an attorney and a structural engineer. I would NOT recommend buying insurance through American Family. It has cost us the attorney fee and engineer fee.

I recently purchased a new vehicle and needed it changed on policy. Went online and filled out forms. They were sent to agent, no response. No way to actually change it on web site!! The agent could not be reached, customer service was absolutely useless. Avoid this company!!
Amfam is a scam
Amfam is a scam do not use them. I had a tornado come 100 feet from my house and amfam said they will not cover my house. I talked to my agent and they said I was committing fraud what?? I asked how then they said I don’t know how. what?? now I have have 8 days to fix my house or I loose 30,0000$ but the thing is I have had 2 different contractors look at my house and amfam will not pay them to fix my house. amfam said they have a calculator that they use but is doesn’t even cover the material. looking on line there has been law suits on this type of thing. so how can amfam still do this. my claim number is 00315094507.

When I called this agency to cancel my policy they wanted me to continue paying the premium or they would place me in high risk.
Service On Claims is HORRIBLE, no respect for insured
I have been an American Family Insurance customer for over thirty years. Prior to March 30,2017, hail storm I had a couple minor claims. Everyone I have interacted with from American Family on this claim will NOT talk about my claim with me. The adjuster basically told me “.. here it is..” on a settlement and refused to discuss it with me. I tried to call my agent, better not say his name, and was told by the clerical they did not get involved in the claim and Danny was not available to talk now, but they could explain it to me. I can read and comprehend that is not the problem. This is the third day now I have tried to contact the adjustors supervisor and they will not return my call, and are NOT in when I call. They take my money for over thirty years, and when I have a big claim try to rob me and won’t even talk to me. Avoid them.

Worst Insurance Company I’ve Ever Dealt With!
I was hit by an American Family insured driver. It’s 100% her fault, beyond debate. It should be a clean settlement but AF has something different in mind. They’be been dishonest and, to be frank, slimy. If this doesn’t mirror your values, I’d recommend looking for another company. Or even if you don’t care about the ethics, you might think about how they’re wasting your money in a case like mine, when they can’t even win in court. Besides, your insurance is supposed to be there to help you. I don’t imagine you’ll ever want to have to rely on this particular company to help you out. It doesn’t look like that’s really their thing.
