Our technician Simon has disassemblied the engine of the BMW M3 E30 EVO2, so that we could truly determine the condition of the engine, and decide on the next steps:

The engine block showed signs of corrosion and sedimentation, which had formed hard rust flakes during the evaporation of the coolant while the engine had no cooler attached. The water pump had also seized.
Due to the risk of blocked water channels, we decided to open the engine and to clean all the water channels.
By using ultrasonic cleaning methods, the block will be cleaned, then skimmedto be in perfect outer and inner condition before it is going to be powder coated.
The cylinder head showed signs of excessive heat and one of the exhaust valves was burned, so we had to replace this valve, and have the cylinder head reconditioned in general.
The intake end exhaust valves will be sonically cleaned and regrounded, as well as CNC work will be done on the valve seats of the cylinder head. The cylinder head will also be skimmed so it will look like new.
The cam tray and sump will also be sonically cleaned, as well as some other items to ensure a perfect finish.
The throttle bodies will be sent out to another expert for hydro blasting, which is most practical as delicate parts need not be disassembled for cleaning.
