Tales of Unease (Ep 3 - The Black Goddess) (1970)

Episode 3: The Black Goddess. Working in a coal mine Morgan suspects that his fellow miner is losing his mind, rambling about seeing 'The Black Goddess' who haunts the workings and often a forewarning of danger. Then a pitfall occurs and terrifyingly he does not seem so mad after all... Starring Ronald Lewis, David Lloyd Meredith, David Davies, Bryan Griffiths, Talfryn Thomas, Arthur Jones and Idris Williams. A more supernatural tale to the last episode, but somewhat more slow going too. It's nice to see Ronald Lewis in something after being something of a big name in British cinema in the early 1960's, and such a shame just 12 years after doing this he would kill himself in 1982 at the age of 54. The twist in this is somewhat ironic and perverse - if only the miners had known...
