Eugenia is a former pop singer who is bedridden and dying of cancer. She is cared for by her children: Helena, who dreams of traveling the world, and Sebastian, whose dreams are much more simple. Helena is totally devoted to her mother’s care , to the point of having little to no contact with anyone her age, and this isolation prompts her to nurture an unhealthy attachment to her brother. Sebastian however, is falling in love with his school's newest roughneck, Juan, who is also the nemesis of Ismael, Sebastien's preppy self-appointed protector. After Ismael’s ping-pong obsessed girlfriend Aurora rents a room at Helena and Sebastian’s house, the older boy discovers he is also attracted to Sebastian.
