Four years ago, a huge coal deposit was discovered just a few metres below the surface of the ground on the outskirts of Oroszlány. The coal seam beneath the shale and marl layer was initially exploited haphazardly. In some places, actual craters were drilled to reach the coal layer, which lies six metres deep. The accumulated tailings were piled up right next to the extraction site, making further mining difficult. In this way the coal was mixed with shale and sand. Today, a new working method is used in Oroszlány. The layers covering the coal are completely removed. This work is being carried out by the concrete road construction company, which has been in operation for several years. The area to be excavated has been divided into regular plots. The concrete road builders successfully completed their task and, as promised by Congress, they were able to start excavating the new area on 20 April. The clean coal emerges from the bottom of the cleared shaft. Every day, Russia is helping our industry to develop with twice as much coal as before.
