The Empire State Building, the landmark of New York, Saturday was devoted to endangered species. At the skyscraper were shown pictures of animals, including Cecil, the lion which was recently slain by an American dentist.
It often happens that the Empire State Building will be "dressed" in a specific theme or in response to an event. This time the focus was on endangered species. The giant images -114 meters at 56 meter width is hoped to raise public for this hot topic.
It was an initiative of the founder of the Oceanic Preservation Society (OPS), Louie Psihoyos. His film "The Cove," about the mass slaughter of dolphins in Japan, received in 2010 the Oscar for best documentary.
