A controversial Play For Today, this drama told the story of the Spaghetti House siege of 1975, where three black men attempted to rob an Italian restaurant, only for it to go badly wrong and lead to a 6 day siege when one of the customers escaped and went for help. Interspersed with actual news excepts from that day, it tells the story from the point of view of the robbers.
Starring T-Bone Wilson, Trevor Thomas, Archie Pool, Victor Baring, Franco De Rosa, Carlos Douglas, Leonard Fenton, Peter Laird, John Louis Mansi, Ray Marioni, Alfred Maron, Colin Starkey, Carmen Munroe, Helen Webb, Slope Shodeinde and Floella Benjamin (yes, really!). I recorded it from the TV this week as I know these Play For Today are hard to come by, but one of the joys of looking through this is seeing the Before They Were Famous faces in it. Not only does it contain Play School's Floella Benjamin, but Carmen Munroe of sitcom Desmond's, John Louis Mansi of Allo Allo and Leonard Fenton - aka Dr Legg from EastEnders! Please note this does contain some swearing.
