Gunter Noris, the man who - together with Kurt Edelhagen - was the musical director during the 1972 Munich Olympics, brings us this groovy version of the great Gershwin classic "Summertime". Originally written for the 1935 musical "Porgy and Bess" this song has been covered by more than 4000 (!) artists worldwide since it's publication and the lyrics have been translated in dozens of languages. The appealing basic rhythm as well as the use of female (wordless) vocals make this a funky sounding "modern" version of the evergreen - there's even 'something addictive' about it

From the 1988 album "Traummelodie" ("Dream melody") here are Gunter Noris and His Orchestra with "Summertime". Enjoy the music and your summer.
